Flights are typically not included in the package price. You’ll be responsible for booking your own flights, though we can suggest preferred airlines or routes upon request.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. We require that all travelers purchase travel insurance to safeguard against unexpected cancellations, medical emergencies, or lost luggage.
How do I secure my spot on a trip?
You can reserve your spot by paying the required non-refundable deposit. Once your deposit is received, your booking is confirmed.
Is my deposit refundable?
All deposits are non-refundable. Our trips involve upfront costs, and these deposits help us confirm bookings with vendors.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes, we offer flexible payment plans. After paying the initial deposit, you can spread the remaining balance across scheduled installments. Check specific trip details for deadlines and amounts.
What is your cancellation policy?
All payments made are generally non-refundable, unless we explicitly state an exception. We strongly recommend travel insurance to protect your investment.
What happens if Afro Elevate cancels a trip?
If we must cancel a trip for any reason within our control, we’ll offer either a full refund or the option to transfer payments to a future trip. Changes made due to force majeure events are handled on a case-by-case basis.
I’m traveling solo. Can I still join?
Absolutely! Many participants join our trips solo. You can opt to share a room with another solo traveler or pay an additional fee for a private room if available.
Are your trips suitable for all fitness levels?
We strive to offer activities that accommodate various fitness levels. However, some itineraries may include moderate to strenuous activities. Check each trip’s description, or reach out if you have concerns about physical requirements.
What kind of accommodations can I expect?
We partner with vetted, comfortable accommodations that are typically 4- to 5-star properties or boutique hotels chosen for their location, safety, and cultural immersion.
How safe are Afro Elevate trips, especially for single Black women?
Safety is our top priority. We collaborate with reputable local guides and service providers, and we thoroughly research each destination. Still, we recommend using standard travel precautions and purchasing comprehensive travel insurance.
Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. We do our best to honor dietary needs such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or allergy-related restrictions. Please inform us during registration so we can plan accordingly.
Can I arrive early or extend my stay?
Absolutely! You’re welcome to arrive before the group trip starts or stay longer. Any extra nights or excursions outside the official trip dates are at your own expense, but we can offer recommendations.
Are there age restrictions for your trips?
Our trips are designed primarily for adult travelers (18+). We may occasionally host family-friendly trips, but unless otherwise stated, participants must be at least 18 years old.
