Begin your journey in Dakar, where you'll visit the capital's top tourist attractions, explore the historic Gorée Island, experience Senegalese cuisine, and discover the country's vibrant art and culture.

Then, travel to the coastal town of Saly for an exciting wildlife safari and two relaxing nights at a beautiful beachfront resort along Senegal's Petite Côte.

DAY 1: Arrival + Welcome Dinner

Arrive at Blaise Diagne International Airport and enjoy a private transfer to Novotel Dakar.

Take time to settle into your room and relax before meeting your Afro Elevate travel sisters for a beautiful welcome dinner featuring Senegalese cuisine and the vibrant energy of Dakar.

DAY 2: Dakar's Top Attractions + African Renaissance Monument

Spend the day exploring Dakar's most iconic landmarks and cultural attractions.

Visit the African Renaissance Monument, the tallest statue in Africa, standing approximately 52 meters high above the Mamelles hills. Take in panoramic views overlooking Dakar and the Atlantic coastline before continuing your city experience.

The day's sightseeing will also feature several of Dakar's top attractions, which may include the Mosque of Divinity, Mamelles Lighthouse, Independence Square, the Museum of Black Civilizations, Dakar's scenic Corniche, local markets, and additional notable landmarks.

There will be plenty of opportunities to take photos, shop for local goods, and experience the vibrant energy of Senegal's capital.

DAY 3: Gorée Island Cultural Experience

Travel by ferry to Gorée Island, one of Senegal's most historically significant destinations.

Explore the island's colorful architecture, peaceful streets, local artwork, and powerful history connected to the transatlantic slave trade.

Visit important historical sites, browse the work of local artists, take photos throughout the island, and enjoy time for lunch before returning to Dakar.

Spend the evening relaxing at the hotel or exploring Dakar at your own pace.

DAY 4: Food-Tasting Experience + Senegalese Cooking Class

DAY 5: Bandia Wildlife Safari + Transfer to Saly

Check out of Novotel Dakar and travel toward Senegal's beautiful Petite Côte.

Visit the Bandia Wildlife Reserve for an exciting guided safari experience. Look out for giraffes, zebras, rhinoceroses, antelopes, monkeys, ostriches, and other wildlife as you explore the reserve.

After the safari, continue to Saly and check into Royam Hotel.

Enjoy the remainder of the day relaxing by the pool, walking along the beach, exploring the resort grounds, or settling into the peaceful atmosphere of Saly.

Do I need a passport or visa?

Yes, a valid passport is required. U.S. citizens do not need a visa for stays under 90 days in Senegal.

What is the arrival airport?

Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS) in Dakar, Senegal. Group airport transfers are included on arrival and departure days.

Is travel insurance required?

Yes, travelers must purchase travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and travel delays. Proof is due 30 days before departure (February 15, 2027).

What's the weather like in March?

Warm and pleasant — typically mid-70s°F to mid-80s°F (24–29°C). Pack light, breathable clothing and sunscreen. It's the dry season, so rain is unlikely.

What should I pack?

Light, breathable clothing, swimwear, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, a light scarf or wrap, and something stylish for dinners and photos. Don't forget your passport and any required medications!

What payment methods are accepted?

All payments must be made through our secure checkout using debit card, credit card, or Shop Pay. A 8% processing fee is applied to all transactions at checkout.
